Which is better/faster, this build or the ritualist 330hp build?

The 330HP build is intended to be used in HM, which is much more punishing, and one screwup could cost you the whole run. You probably can't do UW in Normal Mode with the 330HP because the foes don't hit hard enough for Spirit Bond to trigger. e.g. Constantly hitting 50 Damage, which isn't enough for SB to trigger, and you don't have VwK up. It's actually going to be 33 though, since you've got Protective Spirit, but they do hit quite fast since they Enchant themselves, causing Zealot's Fire to trigger.
This build clears the Ice Wastes of Smite Crawlers fast, which is a good thing because it means you get more and more runs + Ecto.
So in the end I guess its....
330HP UW in HM, provided that you don't suck at using the build, and you want things other than Ectos, since their drop rates don't change.
Otherwise this build for more efficiency/safety.

Correct me if I'm wrong but where it's specified to use a "Icy Axe/Sword of Shelter" it doesn't need to be icy right? So long as it isn't vamp or zealous it will suit its function fine right?
If the specifics of my plan are in any way helpful to answering my question, I'm planning on using the axe build, but doing the running with my zodiac sword which I will slap the needed mod(s) on. My sword has no damage bonus and I've only kept it around for looks up until now. It seems like I'll be fine if I only put a shelter mod on it since it seems that I won't be using it for damage at all.
My apologies if this question has been answered elsewhere in the thread. The thread has gotten fairly long already!

The zealous axe/sword of enchanting is needed for sure but you could realy do with an elemental axe/sword of shelter for killing the graspings at the start and gathering with physical resistance so you take less dmg and have 2 pips, the zealous can then be used just for killing smites.

Ok, that explains it. I didn't realize it was preferrable to use the Icy axe vs the graspings rather than the zealous.
Thank you.

Looks like fun...would an icy axe with +5 energy, 20% enchanting work?
also do you need maxed sunspear or will a lvl 8 be enough damage for whirlwind?
go Dragonforce btw

15% Stance is a help imo, but not necessary, so I think it'll work.
R8 Sunspear is more than enough, in fact, I'm only rank 5!

but dude, maybe u just got lucky, because it is 100% known, that killing everything at the same time DOES reduce drop rates of EVERYTHING (ectos, gold, goldS, whatever).

im not saying that from 1 or 2 runs but 100's of running with all types of tests, i just find you get the same ecto, golds, and scrolls + keys, I made a post in riverside a week ago and everyone said they had the same experience.
cant know for sure, but this little catch in net dropping has been proved.

and one other thing, when you have done this run as much as dont feel no pain has, and have as much experience in the UW with ecto drop rates, then you might have some room to talk down to him about what his drops are like.

whoaa dude chill out, first of all im not "talking down to him" about his drops, and i know he has more experience in this than i am, and (like ive said in my other posts) this build rocks. that much i know :P im just the curious and doubtfull one who asks pestering questions thats all, and there is 100% because in the april 19th update anet introduced loot scaling and something (i think its called) DPS, it was meant to stop extreme mass aggro farming (such as this), there is a caluclator that calculates how much damage was inflicted this second, if it goes above the limit, drops for that mob are shut down. so only thing i said was ask if he is SURE that it does not effect ecto's. thats it dude :P no need ot get all heeeeaaated upp :P

hehehe im not realy all that experianced, i need critics to work on new builds:
Flail - Keen Chop - Whriling Axe - I am the strongest - 2x visage - dolyak - enraging charge.
1 on 1 uber fast killing uw. if you want fodder or self testing, runs take around 17-22min like this.

@ nimrod: sorry, every once in a while i'm a bit flaming, my apologies for what i said
to my knowledge Loot scaling was the only thing that anet acknowledged doing in that update, besides supposedly removing the farm code.
Loot scaling to me seems to be nothing more than a limiter on mass aggro farming (this, or anything that multiple enemies die in a few seconds of each other) cutting drops down, if you don't farm mass aggro loot scaling practically doesn't exist. For instance, farming with SV and killing single targets, you get drops from pretty much everything.
I still don't believe that anet fully removed all farm code from the game, based on my fairly extensive farming runs since loot scaling, and the runs of others that i've discussed it with.
As far as ectos and this build vs vwk(single groups only), i've seen zero difference, 1-3 ectos per full run, and occasionally no ecto for a run.
